Volcano Day
Holy Smoke & Ash, PIggies! It's Vesuvius and Volcano Day! 🐹 🧡 💛 🧡 ❤️ 🌋 🌋 🌋 🔥 🔥 🔥 🥕
Always trust your pigstincts!
If a big volcano near you is rumbling and shaking and smoking ... GRAB A CARROT AND SCURRY!
When your guinea pig starts twitching its whiskers and wheeking nervously at something unseen, don’t dismiss it as everyday piggy drama — that’s centuries of piggy intuition kicking in !!!! THEY KNOW SOMETHING!
Mount Vesuvius, the star of today's disaster, is still very much alive — in fact, it’s the only active volcano on the European mainland. The last time it erupted was in 1944, when lava flows destroyed several nearby villages but spared the ancient ruins of Pompeii, which had already met their fate nearly two thousand years earlier.
In AD 79, Vesuvius’s eruption buried Pompeii and neighboring towns beneath deep layers of ash and pumice. That blanket of destruction accidentally became one of the greatest time capsules in history — preserving houses, frescoes, mosaics, and even loaves of bread in ovens. Once a bustling Roman city of around 10,000 to 20,000 people, Pompeii vanished from view until it was rediscovered in the 1700s, perfectly frozen in its final moments.
There has been A LOT of earthquake and volcanic activity all over the world lately. Make sure if you live in those areas that you have a "grab and go" bag and plan for yourselves and your piggies!
Wheek! Rumble! Wheek!
